Our slogan, "Closer to your pet, through deeper understanding," is more than just words. It is a commitment born from deep regret and a lifelong vow.

The Petra Story

For years, our team worked as web developers, managing and consulting for services that introduced pet salons and veterinary hospitals across Japan. Through our work, we met countless experts—people with profound knowledge and an overflowing passion for animals.

However, we often felt a sense of frustration. We saw so much valuable expertise that never quite reached the people who needed it most online.

In the midst of this, a tiny kitten came into my life. Tragically, before he could even reach his first birthday, he developed FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and passed away.

I was powerless. I failed to notice his very first signs of discomfort. All I could think to do before rushing him to the hospital the next morning was to offer him some cat grass. While it's unlikely that my lack of knowledge worsened his condition, I can’t help but wonder: if I had known more, could I have eased his suffering, even just a little?

If someone like me, who worked in the pet industry, felt this helpless, how must others feel? In that moment of grief, my mission became clear: to deliver accurate, reliable knowledge in a way that everyone can understand.

Petra was born from that very resolve.
